When it comes to financial planning advice (whether ethical, holistic or focused) we realise that everyone is individual and has unique needs and circumstances depending on what stage of life they are at. Therefore I, along with Balfour Group, offer a range of advisory services which have been designed with our many years of experience and expertise to meet the varying requirements of people who seek our advice.

It may be that you only wish to work on a single financial issue within the context of your overall situation, or indeed carry out a full financial review of your finances; whatever your needs, goals or concerns, we can provide you with the means to take stock of your current situation, giving clear professional advice to help set you on the right path and just as importantly, reviewing them on a regular basis.

Meetings can be arranged in several ways depending on your circumstances and geographical location, so don't worry about distance, we are here to listen. In our initial meeting we'll discuss the following services in greater detail and help you decide what sort of service will suit your current needs. Whatever level of advice we provide you with, we will normally supply you with and explain the following documents:

  • Key Facts About Our Services (which includes Mortgage related services and fees)
  • Key Facts About the Cost of Our Services
  • Client Agreement (for all non-Mortgage and Insurance related business);
  • Client Fee Agreement (agreeing the terms and conditions of the work to be carried out and on what remuneration basis)

We offer a choice of remuneration options which include fees, commissions or a combination of both. This means that we'll be paid either on a fixed or 'time cost' fee basis for work carried out, or by commission paid by the provider of the plans we arrange for you. Whichever way you decide to pay us for our services, we will fully disclose all costs and charges of our work and recommendations. Our Elemental Service

This service is for clients who want to focus on particular areas of advice; this might include arranging a mortgage, setting up a simple pension plan or investing a lump sum.

The features of the service are:

  • An initial consultation 'fact find' meeting to establish your current situation, objectives and personal budget with no initial consultation fee;
  • Commission and/or fees will be agreed with you for each service required prior to work commencing;
  • Research to find the most suitable products for you;
  • Present a 'Suitability Report' explaining our recommendations both verbally and in writing;
  • A 'Follow up' meeting to present our recommendations, answer any questions and to complete relevant paperwork;
  • Administer any paperwork with relevant providers and tracking them to completion.
  • Opportunity to access further services on a fee basis;
  • Ad hoc reviews (which may be subject to review fee) when requested by you, e.g. if your mortgage discount period ends or your circumstances change.

Our ProActive Gold Service

For those who want to be more proactive with their finances and not miss out on financial opportunities and important updates based on their circumstances, we have our 'Gold' Service. For a monthly or annual retainer fee we will regularly review your current financial (ethical if required) circumstances and consider how they stand in relation to your ongoing needs and plans. Then we'll recommend a course of action to help meet your objectives for the future.

The main features of this service are:

  • Free initial consultation and 'fact find' meeting to establish your current situation, objectives and personal budget;
  • Commission and /or fees will be agreed with you for each service required prior to work commencing;
  • Thorough review of your current arrangements;
  • Research to find the most suitable products for you;
  • Present a 'Suitability Report' explaining our recommendations both verbally and in writing;
  • A 'Follow up' meeting to present our recommendations, answer any questions and to complete the relevant paperwork;
  • Administer any paperwork with relevant providers and tracking them to completion.
  • An annual full 'holistic' review reporting on your financial progress and reviewing your ongoing needs and aspirations;
  • An annual policy summary and investment portfolio update.

Our Sophicated Platinum Service

Sharing many of the features of our Proactive Gold Service, this level of service is designed for clients with more complex and/or specialist affairs or those who value the need for more regular contact with their adviser. This service would be most beneficial to many types of client - for example, those who have large or broad investment portfolios, have specialised pension funding ('Self Invested Personal Pensions' and 'Drawdown') requirements or Owner/Directors of small to medium sized businesses and retainer fees will be negotiated based on your expected ongoing needs. Our aim is to provide a more sophisticated 'holistic financial planning' service.

The main features of the programme are:

  • Free initial consultation to establish an basic overview of your current situation, values, objectives and personal budget;
  • A holistic 'fact find' meeting to accurately collate and record your personal or business details (may be subject to a consultation fee);
  • Commission and /or fees will be agreed with you for each service required prior to work commencing;
  • Thorough review of your current arrangements;
  • Research to find the most suitable products for you;
  • Present a 'Suitability Report' explaining our recommendations and also any weaknesses in your current and future plans both verbally and in writing;
  • A 'Follow up' meeting to present our recommendations, answer any questions and to complete the relevant paperwork;
  • Administer any paperwork with relevant providers and tracking them to completion.
  • An annual full 'holistic' review reporting on your financial progress and reviewing your ongoing needs and aspirations;
  • An annual policy summary and investment portfolio update;
  • Regular file review and advice regarding any new opportunities that we feel you should consider;
  • Additional or mid-term reviews will be available at your request.
